BATCHWELL RAISES $1.04m AND APPOINTS TWO NEW DIRECTORS

BATCHWELL RAISES $1.04m AND APPOINTS TWO NEW DIRECTORS

Batchwell has successfully raised $1.04m via The Snowball Effect, exceeding the maximum raise target of $1m.  The raise, which closed at 10pm Friday 20th August, saw 130 new shareholders join the Batchwell family.

A leader in the premium kombucha market in New Zealand, the successful raise allows Batchwell to invest more heavily in its capability, capacity, and portfolio expansion. Rich Old, co-founder and head of operations described the successful raise as an exciting time in the companies almost 5-year history. “The ability to significantly invest in the company’s future brings massive potential. With consumers looking for products that are better for you, Batchwell is now well positioned o deliver a range of products that support a healthier lifestyle from the inside out.”

Batchwell made two board appointments throughout the raise process, with Kate O’Leary joining as chairperson and Amy Laing as an independent director. Kate and Amy bring a wealth of experience in governance, management, and marketing to help accelerate Batchwell’s growth plans.

Since graduating from Auckland University in 1994 with degrees in Law (Hons) and Commerce, Kate has worked as a corporate finance lawyer in Auckland and New York, a management consultant with McKinsey & Co, and launched successful gourmet food and cocktail brands into the Australian market.  She served as an independent director for the iconic Ceres Organics for five years, and is currently Executive Chair for Lifestream International, another well-known NZ brand in the vitamin & supplement space. Kate’s strong governance and management experience will assist Batchwell as the business rapidly scales.

Amy has over 17 years of global executive experience with a successful background in leading and driving transformational change within the food and well-being industry. She has held several senior executive roles with governance experience across both public and private organisations and is a mentor & coach to several start-ups and business leadership programmes. Amy is currently Head of Strategy at Ceres Organics and her broad experience across food, strategy, brand, innovation, and culture will be a great fit with Batchwell’s future growth strategy.

Batchwell wants to thank the support of its supply partners, customers, consumers and investors.
